Women’s liberation a crucial part of the movement of the 99%

The demands of 8^th March, International Women's Day, for equality are a manifestation of the resolve of millions of people to change the world.  At no other time in the history of women’s liberation, which is indeed “the measure” of society’s liberation, has the struggle for women's liberation been so thrown to the top of humanity's agenda in the fight for freedom.  The revolution for ‘Bread, Freedom and Human Dignity’ is tied to the struggle for women's liberation, with such champions as Neda Agha-Soltan in Iran, Alya Al-Mahdi in Egypt, etc.  Women's fight for freedom and equality is a powerful inspiration in the revolutions in the Middle East and North Africa.  In the anti-capitalist and Occupy movement in the West, from New York to Athens, women are at the forefront of the protest against the dictatorship of the banks and the rule of the 1%.

This year, the 8^th March movement will be blended with the ongoing momentous battle against dictatorship, discrimination and backwardness and with the anti-capitalist protest of the 99%.  The fight against the unbearable life which capitalism has imposed on humanity is growing, and the struggle for women's liberation, and equality for all, is a most inspiring aspect of that fight.  Civilized humanity is more determined than ever to stand up to gender Apartheid, Islamic Sharia and all misogynist laws.  The world without woman's liberation is not a free world, and it will not come to rest until all forms of economic and political discrimination against women, from religious to nationalist and male-chauvinist, are put an end to, and regimes such as the Islamic regime in Iran are overthrown.

The 8^th March this year is an opportunity to draw the attention of the world to the struggle of women and men in Iran against the Islamic Republic and against the poverty and the hazardous situation aggravated by the economic sanctions and the threat of war.

Journée Internationale des Femmes 2012

La libération des femmes est une partie cruciale du mouvement des 99%

Les revendications pour l'égalité du 8 mars, Journée Internationale des Femmes, sont la manifestation de la volonté des millions de personnes pour changer le monde. A aucun autre moment de l'histoire de la libération des femmes, qui est en fait “la mesure” de la libération de la société, la lutte pour la libération des femmes n'a été aussi urgent dans l'agenda du combat de l'humanité pour la liberté. La révolution pour “le pain, la liberté et la dignité humaine” est liée à la lutte pour la libération des femmes avec des héroïnes comme Neda Agha-Soltan en Iran, Alya Al-Mahdi en Egypte, etc. La lutte des femmes pour la liberté et l'égalité est une inspiration puissante dans les révolutions du Moyen-Orient et d'Afrique du Nord. Dans le mouvement “Occupy” anti-capitaliste en Occident, de New York à Athènes, les femmes sont en premières lignes des protestations contre la dictature des banques et le règne des 1%.

Cette année, le mouvement du 8 mars sera lié avec les importantes batailles en cours contre la dictature, la discrimination et l'arrièration et avec la protestation anti-capitaliste des 99%. La lutte contre la vie insupportable que le capitalisme a imposé à l'humanité se renforce, et le combat pour la libération des femmes, pour l'égalité entre toutes et tous, est un des aspects les plus inspirants de cette lutte. L'humanité civilisée est plus que jamais déterminée pour se lever contre l'apartheid sexiste, la charria et toutes les lois misogynes. Un monde sans libération des femmes n'est pas un monde libre, et il ne le sera pas tant que ne sera pas mis fin à toutes les formes de discriminations politiques et économiques, religieuses, nationalistes et chauvinistes mâles à l'encontre des femmes, et que des régimes comme le régime islamique en Iran ne seront pas renversés.

Cette année le 8 mars est une opportunité pour attirer l'attention du monde sur la lutte des femmes et des hommes en Iran contre la République Islamique et contre la pauvreté et la dangereuse situation aggravée par les sanctions économiques et la menace de guerre.

L'Organisation à l'Etranger du PCOI appelle à participer activement aux manifestations de la Journée Internationale des Femmes à travers le monde.
